Bogart, who lives outside the cafe, is quite ill. He seems to have a swollen flank. There are Good Samaritans who live in Theresa Towers and give him antibiotics. One of them took photos of Bogart to show a vet.

M. has sort of adopted Bogart. Whenever M. takes a taxi to work, Bogart crosses the street with him and waits for him to get a taxi.

When the waiters lock up the cafe to go to their rented room on Planas I, Bogart crosses the street with them, takes them to the room, and then goes back to sleep outside the cafe.
